John Casey, P.E. recently joined the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) as the new district engineer in the Corpus Christi District. John has more than 20 years experience in transportation systems work. Most recently, he was vice president for T.Y. Lin International working out of Tempe, Arizona and Salt Lake City, Utah. He managed and coordinated the alternative delivery and design operations for development of state, county and city projects through the Southwest and globally. He earned his bachelor's degree in civil engineering in 1988 from the University of Arizona and received his master's degree from the University of California at Davis in 1989. John's first professional engineer's license was from California, but he also holds professional licenses in Arizona, Nevada, Utah, New Mexico, and Texas. John has worked as a lead bridge engineer for CH2M Hill where he prepared PS&E packages for the California DOA (Caltrans). He also served as a senior project manager for the City of Vacaville, California and as a transportation manager for Morrison-Maierle, Inc. in Phoenix, Arizona. John and his wife Mary-Louise have two children. His son, Thomas, has just been admitted to West Point as a part of the class of 2014. His daughter, Stephanie, will be a senior at Calallen High School |
